PRAÇA DO COMÉRCIO

The Praça do Comércio, formerly Terreiro do Paço, is a square in Baixa de Lisboa, located by the river Tagus, in the zone that was the site of the palace of the kings of Portugal for about two centuries and which today is partially occupied by some government departments . It is one of the largest squares in Europe, with about 36,000 m² (180m x 200m).

ELEVADOR DA BICA

The Elevador da Bica, is a funicular located in Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo, in Bica, in Lisbon. It is owned by the Companhia de Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, and connects the Rua de São Paulo Largo do Calhariz, facing one of the steepest slopes in the city.

TORRE DE BELÉM

One of the city’s “ex libris”, the monument is an icon of the architecture of the reign of Manuel I of Portugal, in a synthesis between the tower of medieval tradition and the modern bulwark, where artillery pieces were available.
